Runway to Resilience: Supporting Survivors Through Sustainability

Brand Fuel had the honor of volunteering at Runway to Resilience, a fashion show supporting survivors of human trafficking. This event was so much more than your typical night catwalking on the runway.
In celebration of National Women’s Month, we leaned into a hiking- and outdoors-inspired theme.
Think: adventure-ready looks with a deeper meaning. Each piece was styled to reflect strength, resilience, and the idea of moving forward, and something that felt especially powerful given the stories behind the event.

We brought our Explore More merch to the runway alongside incredible B Corp brands like Patagonia, Cotopaxi, Marine Layer, Grosche, and Storm Creek, aka some of our favorite companies doing good while looking good!
And while, yes, there were a few runway nerves… (turns out walking with intention feels very different than walking to your car with coffee), the night wasn’t about perfection. It was about purpose.
What stood out most were the stories shared throughout the evening, honest and powerful reminders of resilience in its truest form. It grounded the entire experience and made it clear why events like this matter so much.

At Brand Fuel, we’re big believers in showing up for our community, for meaningful causes, and for moments that matter. Being part of Runway to Resilience gave us the chance to do just that while supporting an incredible mission and the people behind it.
A good reminder for all of us: embrace new experiences, grow from them, and inspire others.

Here’s what we brought to the table… literally. From an RTIC cooler bag packed with feel-good finds to a Grosche infusion pitcher, locally made cozy candles, and a few adventure-ready essentials, every item was chosen with intention.
For us, it’s about more than putting a logo on something. It’s about creating pieces people will actually use, keep, and connect with. This is how we practice what we preach: thoughtful merch, meaningful impact, and a reminder that even small items can carry a bigger message.
The Women behind It All
Shout out to the incredible women and social architects who made this event possible: Jess Porta, VP of People for GreenPlaces, and Kathy Nuñez, Founder and Executive Director of The Bridge International. Both are pillars of the Raleigh community, known for the support, empathy, and connection they bring to every initiative. Their dedication to providing people with the resources they need to thrive and their genuine love for helping others make it easy to rally behind whatever mission they champion. Simply put, their passion is contagious, and their impact is undeniable.
Thank you for inviting Brand Fuel to be a part of such a meaningful event.
